Public Accounts Committee's (PAC) sub-committee on Tuesday took up the matter of non payment by Bhoja Airline and SAF Air Training School to Pakistan International Airline. Audit officials stated that in 1996-97 audit report indicated that both the airlines did not pay Rs 1.5 million to PIA. On the request of PIA management, the government put the name of the defaulters on ECL. However, the parties went to the court and obtained stay orders. Since 1996-97, the matter has been in the court.
The committee with Rana Afzaal Hussain in chair directed the Aviation Division to expedite the case and recover the amount from defaulters.
