Special court of Gujranwala division's anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday sent Inspector Shehzad Warraich on 12-day physical remand on the charges of killing two lawyers in Daska. Joint Investigation Team's (JIT's) inspector Muhammad Qasim produced the accused in court amid heavy contingent of police and requested for 15-day physical remand of the suspect.
The court, however, adjourned the hearing till June 8 and remanded the accused in police custody for 12 days. The suspect was produced before the court under heavy security to avoid any sort of reaction from the lawyers whereas when the lawyer association came to know about court's decision they strongly criticized it and said that the verdict can't be announced without hearing their stance. Earlier, at least two lawyers were killed in clashes with police when an anti-encroachment drive turned violent in Daska city.
