Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Raheel Sharif was spotted at a polling station waiting to cast his vote.

The ex-army chief went to the polling station without any protocol and waited in the queue like a common citizen to cast his vote. Twitterites were quick to appreciate the former army chief, who is already very popular among the masses, for standing in the line along with the rest of the voters.

Similarly, the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also voted, along with his wife, in Rawalpindi. In a tweet, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor shared a video of the COAS cating his vote.

"We are target of inimical forces working against Pakistan. We’ve come a long way in our comprehensive national effort to fail them. We are united and steadfast to defeat them and today through our votes. Please come out and vote undeterred,” DG ISPR shared army chief's message.

Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar also voted in NA-130, Lahore. Political party leaders also began casting their votes soon after polling commenced across Pakistan at 8am.
