Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday said that ensuring peace in the country was a prime responsibility of Frontier Constabulary and warned that elements involved in violence would be dealt with iron hand. He was addressing an impressive passing out parade of 2,340 recruits of the Frontier Constabulary at FC Training Centre, Shabqadar in Charsadda district.
The Interior Minister said that history of Frontier Constabulary was full of gallantry and expressed the hope that the passed out recruits would follow the footprints of their heroes and predessors, and would foil nefarious designs of the enemies of the country. He said it was the prime responsibility of the force to play effective and constructive role in bringing peace to specific areas of the country.
Chaudhry Nisar said "Islam is a religion of peace and harmony. Few misguided people are using its name for violence and we have to frustrate designs of the enemies of the country," he added. He said "establishment of peace is our collective responsibility and we will not allow anyone to destabilise our country." The Interior Minister said elements involved in attacking schools, buses, funerals, mosques and other public places through bomb blasts and suicide attacks deserved no mercy and would be dealt with iron hands.
Chaudhry Nisar said that recent statement of a defence minister of a foreign country was sufficient proof that who was harbouring terrorism in the country. He said the statement was an eye opener for the entire world and the international community should take serious notice of it. "It has become crystal clear for the entire world that who is behind these acts of terrorism in Pakistan and these are those elements who do not want to see Pakistan prosper," he said, adding "no one can defeat this nation who had strong faith in Allah Almighty, and had a powerful army and unity in its ranks."
"The people, government and military are on one page in war against terror and we will wipe out the terrorists, both internal and external as we had successfully done in Swat." "We will win this war Insha Allah with support of masses," he said, and added "we need to work with unity in one direction against the enemy." Referring to May 28 being observed as Youm-e-Takbeer with reference to 1998 nuclear explosions, the Interior Minister said, "today is historic day in our country history as on this day we made our defence impregnable and nobody could dare to cast an evil eye on our country."
The Interior Minister gave the credit to the government for reduction in bomb and suicide blasts, and added when they came to power, five to six blasts, was a routine matter in the KP. This was achieved due to bold policies of the elected government along with better performance of the intelligence agencies and sacrifices of security forces. As result, security environment has significantly improved in the country, he added. He also held the sacrifices of FC troops for protection of motherland in high regard.
He said he was proud to see such smartly turned out parade of FC contingents. He asked the passed out recruits to utilise their training and skills during their professional life and work with dedication and professional zeal. Nisar said political interference in recruitment process of FC had been discouraged while promotions were being done strictly on merit. He said the government would enhance the capacity building and training of FC troops, and assured that all genuine problems of the force would be addressed on priority basis.

He said FC was also performing duty at operational areas like Orakzai Agency, Bara and Terrah Khyber Agency with great dedication. In addition to restoration of training institutes of FC including Swat Training Centre, the force was also equipped with latest weapons and effective training was being imparted to the recruits and officers.
