The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday restrained all private schools from collecting summer vacation fees at once from students and told them to act on a previous notification issued by the government. The court passed this order while hearing a petition filed by bar member Sheeba Qaisar and adjourned the case to June 02 for further hearing. The court said the government often made an advertisement but never bothered to issue such an advertisement, which benefit the public.
The petitioner told the court that the Punjab government had already issued a notification and stopped private schools from collecting fees. Education Department officials, who were also present, told the court that they had never received any complaint from parents or students.
