Punjab Tourism Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has claimed that the provincial government is taking all-out measures to provide best recreational facilities to public. "Huge funds have been allocated for renovation of historical sites and resorts of the province," he claimed in a meeting of the Board of Directors of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab.
The minister told participants included Member of the Provincial Assembly Tahia Noon, Vice Chairman Imran Goraya, Tourism Secretary Muhammad Khan Khichi and corporation Managing Director Ahmar Malik that the development of tourism could help build the country's image. "The development of domestic tourism can lead to development of international tourism ... Technical education being provided by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab is very vital since it will create opportunities of employment and economic prosperity. Lahore Tourist Bus Service will be launched on August 14," he added. He also said the bus would ply from the Qaddafi Stadium to Food Street and then directed to recruit required staff on merit and take care of special people and children of those employees who died during service.
