Leaders of different political parties have expressed their satisfaction over the consensus reached in All Parties Conference convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPNE) route. Talking to media persons, PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the corridor would open new opportunities of progress and prosperity for the country. He said that his party would fully support the corridor and Chinese investment.
Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Sirajul Haq said that it was big achievement to reach a consensus on the corridor route issue. as this would end different conspiracy theories circulating in the media. He demanded the government to allocate some share of the CPEC investment for development of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas as well.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman congratulated the nation on the consensus reached by the political parties on the corridor. He said that a final route for the corridor has been fixed in the conference and now it is a public material. MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar demanded the government to allocate some resources from the corridor funds to improve mass transit system in Karachi as well. He said that it would require around two billion rupees to start Karachi circular railways to facilitate commuters and improve transport system of the metropolitan. Awami National Party chief Asfand Yar Wali said that his stance on the corridor has been vindicated, as all the parties reached a consensus on the corridor route he has been advocating for the last many days.
