The federal government has released 73 percent of the Rs 525 billion budgeted for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2014-15 with one month remaining. According to the latest data released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, 71 percent (Rs 72.8 billion) foreign assistance for development projects against total budgeted allocation of Rs 102.2 billion for on-going financial year has also been disbursed.
The government has released Rs 39.6 billion for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total allocation of Rs 51.5 billion that was budgeted under the PSDP for financial year 2014-15. An amount Rs 39 billion has been released for Water and Power Division (Water Sector) out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 43.43 billion for the current fiscal year.
The government released Rs 3.5 billion for Interior Division for which Rs 3.9 billion had been earmarked in the budget of current year whereas Rs 882.7 million has been released for National Food Security and Research Division. A total of Rs 32 billion has been released for National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination Division out of its total budgeted Rs 27 billion. A sum of Rs 734 million has been released for Planning, Development and Reform Division out of Rs 25.8 billion budgeted, the data revealed.
The government released Rs 31 billion for Railways Division for which Rs 39.57 billion was earmarked in the PSDP of current fiscal year. An amount of Rs 2.16 billion was released for the Cabinet Division out of its total allocation of Rs 2.77 billion, whereas Rs 3 billion has been released for Communications Division (other then NHA) out of the budgeted Rs 3.152 billion. A sum of Rs 363 million has been released for Commerce Division out of its total allocation of Rs 363 million whereas out of the total budgeted allocation of Rs 12.9 billion for Finance Division, the government has so far released Rs 6.5 billion.
A total of Rs 75.8 billion has been released out of Rs 111.56 billion for National Highway Authority (NHA) while Rs 48.7 billion has been released for WAPDA (Power sector) for on going financial year. The government has released Rs 71.9 million for Narcotics Control Division out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 324 million. The government also released more than Rs 1 billion for Science and Technological Research Division and Rs 1.2 billion for Textile Industry Division.
The government released Rs 12.3 billion for AJK projects out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 12.9 billion, Rs 8.9 billion for Gilgit-Baltistan out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 9.2 billion and Rs 18.5 billion for Safron/Fata out of the total budgeted at Rs 19.1billion.
