The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided the construction of modern flyover at Hayatabad Phase-III Chowk on Jamrud Road. The construction of the flyover will be carried out by National Logistic Cell (NLC). In this connection, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has signed an agreement with NLC under which the later will construct a modern flyover at Phase-III Chowk. The project to cost Rs 1.87 billion will be completed in next six months.
On behalf of NLC, Director Engineering Brigadier Masood Akhtar (retd) and Lieutenant Colonel Zulfiqar Ahmad Abbasi (retd) while Director, Aminuddin and Director (Roads), Ejaz Afzal signed the agreement. This was stated by Secretary Local Government and Rural Development, Jameel Ahmad while presiding over a meeting regarding anti-encroachment operation here in his office Friday. He said that anti-encroachment drive will continue at any cost and every city of the province will be cleansed of encroachment to beautify them. He said that the second phase of anti-encroachment in Peshawar is a new challenge for both district administration and Municipal Corporation, whose timely disposal is must.
He said that the demolition of encroachments in Gulbahar Police Station and Ladies' Club, University Town is the proof of the government commitment that no one is above the law and in this connection neither pressure nor influence will be tolerated. He said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan has given free hand to administration for the completion of clean and green and Peshawar uplift programme and there should be no misunderstanding in this regard.
