Meeting of the National Economic Council (NECP) will be held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to give approval of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the next financial year, allocation of developments to the provinces and other mega projects. Sources said that the Prime Minister has tasked the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to discuss the development funds allocation with the provincial governments before the meeting so that issues, if any, could be resolved.
Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments have been demanding that social sector projects including those relating to health and education should be included in the Public Sector Development Programme. KP Chief Minister had also demanded additional funds saying that his province has been severely affected by war against terrorism.
