Mohamed Salah took only 52 seconds to bring Liverpool back in the game before Sadio Mane scored a late winner against Manchester to give Jurgen Klopp an early advantage on pre season tour.

When scoring goals comes so naturally, it probably shouldn't have come as a surprise that Salah registered on his first appearance of pre-season. But, even still, the speed in which the Egyptian found himself back in the groove, thumping in a header from close range, was remarkable.

Salah, on as a 61st minute substitute after only five days of training, was instrumental in securing Liverpool's fourth consecutive victory over Manchester City of 2018.

There was nothing riding on the outcome of this fixture but in terms of providing confidence, it worked a treat for Klopp and his men.

Liverpool gave notice of their intentions, especially in the second half when Salah and Sadio Mane were working in tandem.

Earlier, Sane scored the only goal for Manchester City from a superb pass from Bernardo Silva and gave Kelleher no chance to sparkle, his finish drilled hard and low into the far corner.
