Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has registered 367 FIRs against power thieves in Peshawar, Charsadda and Bannu during May 2015. According to the details during the campaign to curb the power pilferage, 79 FIRs have been lodged in Pesco Police Station Peshawar, 176 FIRs in Pesco Police Station Bannu and 112 FIRs have been lodged in Pesco Police Station Charsadda.
In this context a meeting held at Wapda House Peshawar here on Monday which was presided over by Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil. Chief Engineer (Operation) Nadeem Anwar, SE Pesco Peshawar Circle Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, SE Khyber Circle Bakht Zada Khan, SHO Pesco Police Station Peshawar and Charsadda attended the meeting. During this meeting it was decided that all strict measures should be taken to stop the direct hooks and illegal use of electricity to curb the power pilferage. Direct hooks are the main cause of load shedding, power breakdowns and over loading of the system.
