The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought a report from police by June 17 in a petition wanting a case against a veterinary doctor accused of deliberately killing a pet. Petitioner Doctor Atia Masood told the court she used to take her cat to Dr Awais Anees and then would pay him Rs 6,000 per visit. She then went on to say that on January 18 this year Dr Awais demanded Rs 25,000 and she only paid him Rs 10,000 instead.
She claimed that the vet doctor had given her pet five jabs and a drip which resulted in the animal's death. She said Dr Awais had deliberately killed the cat. She later appealed to the Nawab Town Police to bring up a case against him but the former refused to entertain her case.
