Huawei might outdo Samsung in launching first ever foldable smartphone

New reports have poured in suggesting that Huawei might lead in launching a foldable phone and that too ahead of Samsung next year.

A new report by an Asian publication Nikkei Asian Review informed about Huawei’s efforts to manufacture and launch the world’s first foldable smartphone ahead of Samsung probably in early 2019.

Huawei’s phone might use a flexible OLED display made by China’s Beijing Oriental Electronics (BOE) Technology Group, which is, however, inferior to Samsung’s own Samsung Display. Despite the inferiority, Huawei isn’t aiming to outsell Samsung, instead just aiming to be the first one in the market to launch foldable smartphones and beat Samsung, as per Trusted Reviews.

Huawei phones might even be produced in a limited quantity of up to 30,000 units, because of which the foldable phones might not replace Huawei’s usual Android phones.

Not much is known about Huawei’s foldable smartphones, whereas, rumors about Samsung’s foldable smartphones suggest that the phone will measure around seven inches and will fold in half like a wallet, having a hefty price tag of around $1,500 to $2,000, reported Mashable.
