Vote rigging allegations: shutter down in KP on June 10

President Tri-Party Alliance (TPA) secretary general, ANP Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the provincial government has convened All Parties Conference (APC) with mala-fide intentions to sabotage the strike of opposition. Briefing the media after presiding over a meeting of the alliance here at Bacha Khan Markaz Monday, he said that TPA will not participate in the APC and will go for shutter down on June 10, 2015. He said that the movement launched by the alliance will continue till the ouster of the provincial government.
Mian Iftikhar said that a committee for making contacts with traders for shutter down has been constituted. He said that the committee will contact all associations of the trading community and was hopeful of their support against rigging. He said that the provincial government has lost its utility, saying that frightened of their protest movement it has convened the meeting. However, he made it clear that the shutter down under the auspices of TPA will be succeeded in any circumstances and protest demos and rallies will be held at the level of every union council while workers have been deployed on routes to facilitate the people.
The ANP stalwart alleged that billions of rupees including zakat funds were utilised by the government in local bodies' polls while the brother of the chief minister continued polling till midnight. He said that it is the ample proof of the incompetency of the provincial government that budget had been lapsed for third consecutive year and now the rigging further ended their usefulness. He said that the claim of Imran Khan regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was lie therefore the provincial government should now step down voluntarily. He said that their protest will continue till the resignation of the provincial government. He said that in this connection other political parties are also contacting them and very soon a line of election will be decided in this regard. He said that rigging is not limited to only the stealing of ballot boxes rather the blocking of results and hurling threats on independent candidates to join them is also rigging.
