The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani awarded Mansehra police for arresting a dreaded terrorist involved in several attacks on Army convoy and police mobile in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar Monday. According to details two motorcycle rider terrorists after killing a citizen of Rahim Yar Khan in college Doraha Mansehra escaped via Oghi road.
On this information police mobile held nakabandi near village Hamshrain police station Khaki. Meanwhile a motorcycle appeared and police party signalled to stop, but both the accused riding on motorcycle opened fire and tried to escape from the spot. Constable Afzal Ahmad Khan of Elite Force showed extra-ordinary bravery and courage and overpowered one of them as other accused succeeded to make his escape good. Due to firing of accused constable Afzal Ahmad Khan also sustained critical bullet injuries on jaw.
The police on the information of arrested terrorist namely Umair Shah r/o Bherkund raided a house and recovered 4 suicide jackets, two Kalashnikovs, two pistols and various magazines. The said group of terrorists was also found involved on several attacks on Army Convoy and police teams. Similarly, in another action the Mansehra police supported by BDS team on information had recovered explosive dumped in the heap of garbage in village Bherkund police station Khaki and defused on the sport.
The explosive material included one suicide jacket, 3 kg high explosive, one head light LED (foreign made), 7 packet ball bearing, 6 detonator non electronics, one detonator electronic, 3 mobile chargers, 7 Geometry Box, 13 prima cords, one hand grenade, 2 IED, 225 rounds, 7 magazines, 2 dagger and 3 batteries. Addressing on the occasion the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani appreciated the Mansehra police performance in the said cases. He said Mansehra police were exhibiting extra-ordinary courage and receiving tremendous success against the terrorist and other anti-state and anti social elements.
The IGP specially held in high esteem the bravery and courage of the injured constable by saying that the entire force was proud of his performance. The IGP held the injured constable closed to his chest for some-time and pat him on the back and encouraged him for his extra courage against the terrorist and awarded him special cash prize of Rs 10 thousands and commendation certificate. The other police officers and jawan awarded on the occasion included SDPO Headquarters Zulfiqar Jadoon, Sub Inspector Javed Khan, incharge QRF Sub Inspector Mazher Shah and incharge BDS Ikhlaq.
