In order to provide modern wool and mutton processing facilities to livestock farmers, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BoIT), in collaboration with Department of Livestock and Dairy Development, has finalised a plan to establish a modern sheep farm in Jaba, Manshera district. KP-BoIT Vice Chairman Senator Mohsin Aziz stated this while presiding over a meeting here on Wednesday to review various projects, which have undertaken by the board with relevant government departments.
Senator Mohsin Aziz said the KP-BoIT under patronage of PTI-led provincial government, had gained milestones and undertaken pragmatic measures for attracting local as well as foreign investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The board vice chairman said that this sheep farm aims at to provide a state-of-the-art facility to livestock farmers to yield fine quality wool as well as to keep intact the nucleus breed for improving production of the captioned sheep.
Aziz further said that it will enhance and expand sheep farming in the areas, to meet growing demand of both mutton and wool. Senator Mohsin Aziz said the proposed land would be leased out to investors for period of 30 years and the lease agreement will be extendable. He said the establishment of modern wool processing facilities (grading and scouring), would produce best quality of wool, which could also generate hefty of revenue for livestock farmers.
