Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Tuesday chaired a meeting of the senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Revenue to review various budgetary proposals in the light of the feedback from various stakeholders including the businessmen and traders community. The minister shared with the senior officials various amendments proposed by parliamentarians regarding the budget 2015-16 and discussed their impact.
The minister said that suitable proposals from various quarters regardless of political affiliations would be duly accommodated. "We want to present a budget that is based on consensus. Our aim is to promote business activity, generate employment in the country and promote tax culture," Dar remarked. He asked the Finance Ministry and the FBR officials to finalise suitable proposals as early as possible so that they could be reflected in his winding-up address on the budget 2015-16.-PR
