VC Professor Dr Pasha focused on Pakistan's need for strategic policy interventions and an enabling environment for increased food supply, access to food, and equity of food distribution.
Dr Junaid said the public-private partnerships in agriculture could introduce innovations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of research, extension and education services. "Such training for technical specialists in agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises will increase people's access to food. In addition to human development programmes by the govt, a well organised food assistance programme in food insecure and low agricultural producing areas will help reduce poverty and enhance access to food enormously," he added.
