"Be a man and have the courage to appear before the commission and prove all the allegations you're leveling from the top of the container", Anusha dared Khan while talking to reporters outside Supreme Court after attending proceedings of the inquiry commission.
She maintained that the Returning Officers (ROs), who appeared before commission to record their testimonies, categorically rejected the PTI chief's allegation that they were part of the widespread systematic rigging in 2013 general election. She said that the commission ROs of 11 National Assembly constituencies on the request of PTI and all the five ROs who recorded their statements on Wednesday informed the commission that that they submitted their requirements for ballot papers keeping in view the number of registered voters in their respective constituencies.
According to her, the ROs also rejected another PTI claim that extra ballot papers were printed for rigging purposes, adding the ROs submitted all extra papers to the treasury through District Returning Officers. She further maintained that the PTI chief is unable to understand the election process. Referring to the allegations against the recent local bodies' elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, she said that the PTI chief should remove his provincial ministers who were involved in rigging and inquiry should be initiated against them.
Earlier, PML-N leaders including Daniyal Aziz and Talal Chaudhry asked PTI to change its attitude of 'misleading' the general public and follow the path of truth. Aziz said that PTI has set a history of mismanagement and irregularities in local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talal Chaudhry said the counsels for PTI have to face embarrassment before the judicial commission with regard to the question of returning officers. Referring to Asif Zardari's statement against military, he said that it seems the former president had been worried since the arrest of a model at an airport. He said that such statements at a time when one year of operation Zarb-e-Azb has been completed, were unacceptable. He said that the statements have been condemned by everyone, adding democracy was being blamed due to the PPP governance in Sindh.
