Employees of Sindh Livestock department have staged a sit-in on the second consecutive day against the non-acceptance of their demands. The protest was organized by Sindh Livestock Employees Action Committee outside Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) on Thursday. On the occasion, Shahbaz Jatoi, Hussaini Munwar Ali Shah, Jameel Baloch and others said that the death quotas were not being implemented in the department and moreover promotions were not made for the last many years.
They said that the bribe was allegedly being taken for jobs and promotions in the department while the higher authority did not take any action such persons involved in corrupt practices. They demanded that the Sindh government should not privatise farms of livestock department being run by the provincial government. Hundreds of employees would lose their jobs if the farms were privatised, they said. The posts of Director Animal Husbandry and Deputy Director was occupied by non-cadre officials where competent official should be deputed, they urged. They demanded the Sindh government to take serious action against corrupt officials.
