CS Punjab calls for comprehensive plan to check fire incidents

Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has called for a comprehensive plan to check incidents of fire. His instruction came at a meeting he chaired to overcome the increasing fire incidents. He told the concerned authorities to ensure the fire safety equipment availability and emergency exit in buildings. "The protection of life and property is the foremost duty of government," he said, adding that practical steps should be taken. He instructed Rescue-1122 Director General Rizwan Naseer to launch an awareness campaign on causes of fire and precautionary measures.
