Sindh government announced public holiday for today (Wednesday) across the province against power outages. according to a private TV. According to a circular issued from office of provincial information minister, holiday has been announced in view of intense heatwave and protracted spans of loadshedding in Karachi. Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon said all government offices will remain closed today; but the ongoing budget session will continue as scheduled at Sindh Assembly.
The minister said entire province will remain shut but heat-stroke centers and hospitals will work as usual to provide relief to heat-stroke patients. Memon said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will lead a protest demonstration today against the federal government and K-Electric for inefficient handling of the crisis in the mega city. The Sindh MPAs and members of Parliament will attend the protest sit-in.
