Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Provincial Co-ordinator, Fazal Muhammad Khan, has announced to hold a province-wide strike against unannounced and prolonged loadshedding across the KP on June 26 (Friday). The decision was taken in a high profile meeting of Central and Provincial leadership after the Federal Government failed to deliver according to its claims to end load shedding in Ramazan.
In a statement issued from the Provincial Secretariat, Fazal Khan said, "Loadshedding has surged in Ramazan and KPK is deliberately being deprived of its due share of electricity. More than a thousand people have died because of severe heat-stroke and power outages in Karachi." Secretary General Dr Haider Ali clarified that protests will be held on Friday in front of Press Clubs in every District of KPK. Tehreek-e-Insaf workers will take their demands to the streets in order to end prolonged load shedding and also to express solidarity with the families of those deceased in Karachi heat wave.
