Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched new registration module in IRIS to allow enrolments in income tax and sales tax. The formal launch was made by member of information technology (IT) & secretary (IT) FBR Ms Raana Ahmed at a seminar, that was jointly organized by Regional Tax Office (RTO) and Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) at RTO auditorium here on Thursday.
Speaking at a seminar, Raana highlighted the various aspects of the new registration module and rationalised its launch by saying that old system was now dysfunctional and applications for new registration and change in particulars were not only formidable task but that was a also time consuming process. She said that this new registration would be made online on real time basis and FBR through the launch of this module completely eliminated the human role in registration process, which would definitely minimise the chances of malpractices/corruption in registration process. Moreover, she said that there would be no lengthy correspondence and this module was also linked with NADRA and SECP. Meanwhile, Muhammad Zubair, President, Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) cited several other problems being faced by the taxpayers in dealing with income tax affairs.
