The management of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has shown deep concern over the statement of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa given on the floor of the Provincial Assembly on loadshedding. According to Pesco official this statement discouraged Pesco's employees and decreased their morale, as Pesco employees are unable to perform their duty with devotion and sincerity in such provoking condition.
The rhetoric statement by the KP chief minister will not help Pesco to achieve their goals. Joint efforts are required to meet the crisis challenges and to work out a strategy with in available resources, official added. Pesco has always extended its full co-operation to federal government as well as provincial government to resolve the issues. But, threats of burning offices are unlikely to help bring power into houses and commercial concerns instead lead to worsening the situation.
The main problem is that there is not enough energy in the country to meet the demand. The unfortunate head of Pesco can on his own do nothing about this. On the one hand loadshedding schedule is being prepared and implemented with the consultation of provincial government. The statement regarding not using 500MW electricity is contrary to the fact as Pesco provided 1700MW electricity against average quota of 1500MW throughout the province which is not possible without federal government co-operation and help. Despite of difficulties Pesco is providing uninterruptible power supply to the consumers of more than 88 percent feeders in Sehr, Aftaar and Taraveeh and presently there is zero loadshedding on approximately 200 feeders.
It is important to mention that all efforts are being made to provide power supply to the consumers of about 350 feeders with high losses during Ramazan except of those areas where some technical problems are faced. Pesco management is striving best to facilitate its consumers and vowed that with the help and co-operation of provincial government it will reduce loadshedding.
