Four years have passed since the dreadful day when Malaysian Airlines MH370 mysteriously went missing. The mystery has now finally been laid to rest as officials released a final report about MH370’s fate, with some even theorizing it as a murder-suicide.

Malaysian Airlines MH370, a Boeing 777, went missing on March 8, 2014 with no news about the plane and with all 239 people on board presumed to be dead. Search continued, but came up with next to nothing inviting more mystery and with numerous people pouring in their theories.

Last week, Malaysian government issued what it claims to be the final report of the plane’s fate, indicating that the plane deviated from its assigned path and was manually crashed in the Indian Ocean, reported Fox News.

MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur at 12:41am local time for Beijing with 239 people on board including 12 crew members. The last voice communication from the cockpit came in after less than an hour saying, “Good night Malaysian three seven zero”. After this, the plane stopped communicating with ground control.

Data from military radar stated that the plane then deviated from its planned route two hours after takeoff, turned back towards Malaysia and then towards the Indian Ocean after finally dropping off the grid, for reasons unknown and with no bad weather reports or distress calls.

A total of 26 countries and various teams came together to search for the missing plane at various locations, yet they found very little until recently in May 2018 the research investigations were called off.

In four years of searching, the only confirmed traces of the aircraft have been three wing fragments washed up on Indian Ocean coasts in Madagascar, Réunion Island, and Tanzania. However, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad informed that they would consider resuming the search if new clues were found.

On the other hand, different authorities formed various theories about what would have happened four years ago. Malaysian government believes that the flight was incapacitated by an oxygen deficiency. While another theory indicates a hijacking, or maybe the pilot being in a suicidal state and ultimately cutting off communication before deliberately crashing the plane into the ocean causing a murder-suicide, reported Business Insider.

One theory suggests that the plane has experience an electrical fire and turned back towards Malaysia for an emergency landing, but the fire harmed the crew and passengers and would have flown on autopilot. There are numerous other theories too, including the plane being shot down, Bermuda Triangle-style area, North Korea taking the plane, Vladimir Putin knowing the plane’s location, aliens and such.

Regardless of the theories, no one knows for sure and cannot be explained until the plane’s wreckage or significant evidence is found.
