K-Electric asks customers to avoid using unnecessary power equipment

K-Electric in its recent press statement has requested its valued customers to avoid using unnecessary electricity equipment at this time of excessive heatwave in Karachi. KE said that with the rise of temperature and increasing demand of electricity has exceeded to a record high of 3100MW. He also added that Kannupp is down due to technical reasons after which the 70MW KE buys from it is missing from the system, while on the other hand, low level of gas supply at various other power plants has also affected overall production of electricity in the city.
KE's spokesperson further stated that certain exempted areas will also face load-shedding on selected feeders due to increase in temperature and in order to manage power supply and maintain equal distribution across the city.-PR
