Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided a meeting on Thursday, which he reviewed matters regarding Greater Iqbal Park Project. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Greater Iqbal Park Project has importance to highlight Pakistan Movement and it should be carried out promptly. He said that no compromise will be made on this project and this project will be state-of-the-art, as a separate authority will monitor the implementation of project.
Chief Minister said, a museum will also be devised with regard to Tehrik-e-Pakistan in which pictures of heroes of Pakistan Movement will be displayed and special programs will be held for highlighting the aim and objectives of Pakistan Movement.
Maximum recreational facilities will be provided to the people under greater Iqbal Park Project, in connection a train and buggy will also be operated in the park, a separate place will be allocated for children playing. An open air gym will be designed in the park.
The Chief Minister said that all matters regarding the project will be outsourced and third party audit will be compulsory to ensure transparency and standard.
This project will not only play an important role in highlighting the culture and historical heritage of Lahore but will also help in informing the new generation about the importance of Pakistan Movement and the efforts and services of national heroes.
Landscape of entire project is in modern and old style while a lake will also be developed in Greater Iqbal Park Project.
Turk experts appreciated master plan of Greater Iqbal Park project. They said that Chief Minister Punjab has evolved a glorious project for transferring the historical heritage of Pakistan to the new generations and the vision of Shahbaz Sharif regarding this great project is laudable.
Turk experts also assured co-operation to Greater Iqbal Park project. Chairman Lahore Transport Company Kh Ahmed Hassan, Vice Chairman PHA Iftikhar Ahmed, DG Lahore Walled City Project, Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore and DCO Lahore, DG LDA, DG PHA, MD NESPAK and Turk experts attended the meeting.
