Appointment of a junior officer: livestock department plagued by political interference
Political interference and violation of merit reign supreme in the Department of Livestock (Research) as Advisor to KP CM on Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives has bypassed three senior Principal Research Officers and appointed a junior who was on serial 4 of the seniority list as Director Livestock, Research and Development.
According to reliable sources, the PTI affiliated advisor to the chief minister is following his own whims and wishes in running the affairs of the department and making mockery of the slogans of change and transparency.
The administrative secretary while adhering to merit and law nominated the top senior officer for vacant post of Director, Livestock (Research and Development) and prepared a formal summary and sent it to the advisor for approval from the Chief Minister. However, on the wishes of some vested interest, the Advisor on Livestock bypassed the two most senior, gold medallists, competent and honest officers and sent the summary of the nomination of a junior officer to the chief minister for approval.
Furthermore, to keep the temporarily posted Director General, who is senior most and honest officer under pressure, he has stopped the summary of his appointment for last two months to achieve his illegal demands from him, which also include the posting of the Director Livestock Research and Development.
The violation of merit and justice in the department by the advisor is spreading discontent among the senior and competent officers and creating a new tradition in the department, which is not only causing defamation of the provincial government, but also for PTI in the province.
