Tehreek-e-Insaf General Secretary Jahangir Khan Tareen on Thursday said that PTI leader Arif Alvi's reported apology over the "35 punctures" was his personal stance. Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, he said that Alvi's apology has nothing to do with the party policy, as he has little knowledge of the whole controversy.
He said that extra ballot papers used in some particular constituencies would reveal what is right or wrong.
It may be pertinent to mention here that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had claimed that '35 punctures' were actually 35 seats wherein former caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Najam Sethi rigged general election in favour of PML-N.
In an interview on Wednesday, Khan, however, said that it was just a political statement. The party Information Secretary Naeem-ul-Haque also quickly responded to the Alvi's apology, saying the 'puncture story' was correct. He also termed the Alvi's tweet as his personal viewpoint.
Talking to media persons, the PMLN members Talal Chaudhry, Danial Aziz and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also criticised the PTI leadership for concocting stories and damaging repute of notable personalities through mudslinging.
