Prime Minister meets newly-elected chief minister: call to ensure good governance in GB
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday urged upon the government of Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure corruption-free good governance for their people. He said this while talking to the newly-elected Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Hafeezur Rahman who called on him here at the PM House.
The Prime Minister said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan had given mandate to the Pakistan Muslim League-N to resolve their problems.
He stressed priority measures to improve the living standard of people in areas including health, education and infrastructure development.
Hafeezur Rahman, who called on the Prime Minister for the first time after assuming the office of Chief Minister thanked him for reposing confidence in him.
He assured the Prime Minister for trying his best to make GB a role model of development and prosperity as per the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and in accordance with the manifesto of PML-N.
Later, Governor GB, Chaudhry Barjees Tahir and Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs, Dr Asif Kirmani also joined the meeting and discussed political and administrative matters related to GB.
