Indonesian naval ship, KRI BANGARMASIN-592, has arrived on a goodwill-cum-training visit at Karachi Port here on Thursday. The visiting ship was accorded a warm welcome and received by senior officials of Pakistan Navy and Indonesian Consul General in Pakistan. 99 Indonesian navy cadets are also visiting Pakistan onboard KRI BANJARMASIN.
During the two-day visit, the ship's Commanding Officer will meet various Pakistan Navy Commands at Karachi.
During the stay of the Indonesian naval ship, various training activities and discussions on Maritime Security and Amphibious Operations are planned. Friendly sports events and visits of Indonesian delegation to PN Establishments will also be undertaken.
Pakistan Navy personnel including cadets from Pakistan Naval Academy will also visit Indonesian navy ship. At the end of the visit, the Indonesian ship will conduct exercise with Pakistan navy fleet units.
Pakistan navy and Indonesian navy enjoy historic, brotherly relations and frequently interact with each other for joint exercises, port calls, training etc.
The current visit of Indonesian navy ship is of high significance as it will help in promoting peace and security in the region, further enhance defence ties and further improve maritime collaboration between the two brotherly countries in general and navies in particular.
These visits are also in line with government policies to enhance maritime collaboration with regional and extra regional countries.-PR
