A 4 member delegation of Al-Khair Foundation, UK called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and offered to install 40 Reverse Osmoses (RO) plants in Karachi to fill the water-shortage gap in the metropolis. CEO of Al-Khair Foundation Imam Qasim requested the chief minister to allocate small peace of land in different areas where his foundation can install RO plants for provision of clean and free of cost water to the people. The Foundation would meet all the financial requirements in this regard.
The Chief Minister appreciated the offer extended by the Foundation. "Being government we are trying our best to serve the people of the province in general and of Karachi in particular but the government cannot do everything alone. The private sector and the civil society have to cover over," he said. The foundation chief, Imam Qasim told the Chief Minister that they were already working in Tharparkar where they constructed 170 water wells in four tehsil. "Our work and services are for humanity," Qasim remarked. The Chief Minister also directed Commissioner Karachi and Administrator KMC to support the foundation for installation of RO plants as well as other welfare activities.
