Total 549 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of the Punjab during the past 24 hours; in which six people died during these traffic accidents in different districts and 445 injured were shifted to hospitals. However, some 445 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
According to data 231 drivers, 21 underage drivers, 90 pedestrians and 313 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 133 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 138 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 41 RTAs in Faisalabad with 55 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 39 RTAs and 43 victims.
The details further show that total 634 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 510 males and 124 females, while age group of the victims show that 81 were under 18 year of age, 413 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 140 victims were reported above 40 years.
