A high-level meeting here while according approval to number of recommendations and proposals has decided to establish a Special Branch Intelligence School. The approval to this effect was granted at a meeting chaired by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali. The meeting held at the Central Police Office (CPO) here on Tuesday, reviewed matters pertaining to the Special Branch and improving its organisational structure.
The IGP stressed the need of providing modern and quality training to the staff of the Special Branch. The meeting approved recommendations/proposals presented by Additional IG Special branch. These included the setting up of the Special Branch Intelligence School.
The IGP said that as this would take some time, the training to the staff may be imparted at some other training centres. It was pointed out that in the Punjab the Intelligence Bureau was conducting special training courses.
The IGP called for collection of information regarding such training courses and steps for their implementation so that the task of intelligence collection could be improved and made effective. Additional IG Special Branch said that the record pertaining to the Special Branch is being computerised.
