The Met Office on Tuesday forecast more widespread rain with thundershower for upcountry during the next 24 hours, repeating its warning for upper Punjab urban floods. Rains are expected in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and D.G.Khan divisions, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Partly cloudy/ cloudy and windy weather is expected in Karachi with chances of drizzle during night/morning in coastal areas. Temperature is expected to remain 33 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius with 65-75 percent humidity.
Heat index may show at 41 degrees. The Met office said that scattered rain thundershower was likely in Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, D.I.Khan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Multan divisions. Similarly isolated rainfall was predicted for Malakand, Zhob and Sukkar divisions, besides Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavy falls is expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and D.G.Khan divisions in the next 24 hours. "Well marked seasonal low lies over north Balochistan ad its adjoining area with its trough extending south-eastwards. Strong Monsoon currents are penetrating into central and upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next few days," it forecast.
