On the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique paid a visit to River Ravi in Shahdara and Kala Khataye Road to review the pre-flood arrangements on Friday. The senior officers of PDMA, Agriculture, Irrigation departments and the officers of CDGL were present on the occasion. Salman Rafique inspected the spurs and dykes of River Ravi. He directed that protective spurs should be strengthened according to the SOPs and day& night monitoring also be carried out.
Khawaja Salman Rafique further said that on the instructions of Chief Minister all cabinet members, members of parliament and senior government officers have been assigned the duties to monitor pre-flood arrangements in the province. He said that the government is fully alert to protect the life and property of the people and provide maximum relief to them in any emergency situation. He said that all the concerned departments have also been put on standby high alert for this purpose.
