A high-level meeting, chaired by Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar here on Saturday morning, reviewed financial and administrative arrangements for the K2 and K3 power plants. Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, EAD and PAEC were present in the meeting. Minister Dar said that overcoming the energy shortage in the country was top priority of the government and it was pertinent that ongoing power projects were completed on priority.
He said when completed, K2 and K3 would prove to be very economical source of energy. He said with all necessary financial matters settled for Neelum Jhelum project, and speedy completion of K2 and K3 now envisaged, he hoped for an improved energy scenario in future. The ground-breaking ceremony of the 2000MW energy plants, it may be recalled, took place in November 2013. The project is being jointly financed by China (EXIM Bank) and Government of Pakistan.
