Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Saturday said he has asked the coordination committee to build a memorial to pay homage to those workers who survived and braved prisons and tortures. Addressing party workers who were recently freed from prisons, Altaf Hussain said that "brave, faithful and firm" friends are soul of the party, adding that no power can eliminate or even harm his party as long as it has 'faithful friends'.
He said normally a human being can bear torture and cruelty but the way MQM workers were insulted as well as physically tortured cannot be expressed in words. MQM chief said that he has told the Rabita Committee to build a memorial site to pay tribute to those workers who have braved prison and torture so that their names could be remembered in the history.
While addressing the Iftar-cum-dinner gathering in hosted by Mohibban-e-Pakistan in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States, Altaf Hussain has regretted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has not a single word over the main issue of Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) during his meeting with Prime Minister India Narendra Modi while the latter time and again raised Mumbai case.
He deplored that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has not even a little bit of courage raise his voice against the atrocities of Indian Army in the occupied Kashmir. He asked that whether the Pakistan government has ceased the issue of occupied Kashmir. He congratulated hundreds of men, women and children attended the Iftar party on the occasion of the third 'Ashra (tenth)' of Ramazan and asked them to remember and pray for the departed souls of the martyrs during their prayers who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan and the success of the movement.
Hussain said that despite the fact that 68 years of our independence has passed but till to-date the 'Mohajirs' are not being considered as 'sons of the soil', and are always being subjected to suspicion in every walk of life. He regretted that even a person like Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is not being considered as 'son of the soil' just because he too is a 'Mohajir'. He s that those who have looted this country with both hands and were involved in the gory episode of 1971, are labelling the sons and daughter of those who created Pakistan as the enemy of the state and their loyalty is being questioned. He said that it was only MQM which all out supported the Army on 'Zarb-e-Azb', and asked that whether it was a mistake for which the MQM is being pushed to the wall.
The MQM leader Altaf Hussain further regretted that instead of accepting the mandate of MQM efforts are underway to eliminate Mohajirs and MQM. He said that "We have decided that we would give all sacrifices but would never bow down and accept the life of slavery. He urged the Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia, and Gulf States to abide by the laws of their countries in which they are living and lauded those who are sending huge amount of foreign exchange with a view to making the economy of Pakistan stronger.
