National Electric Power Regularity Authority (NEPRA) has decided to take action if K-Electric fails to submit its reply on prolonged loadshedding in Karachi. Today is the last day for K-Electric to submit its report on power shutdown in Karachi.
On the other hand, a NEPRA fact-finding committee has finalised its report declaring K-Electric responsible for the power breakdown in the country''s economic hub.
"The transmission and distribution system of K-Electric is malfunctioning and K-Electric failed to enhance production of electricity despite have resources," the report claimed. The report alleged that according to the agreement, K-Electric authorities were required to invest US $36 million which they did not.
