Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday urged British Government to start criminal proceedings against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain over his reported 'provocative' and 'hateful' speeches against Pakistan Army and Rangers from the British soil.
In a written complaint to British High Commissioner Philip Barton, President PTI Karachi Syed Ali Haider Zaidi has expressed deep concerns over the alleged hate speeches made by Altaf Hussain from British soil. The latter said: "Altaf Hussain's provocative and hateful speeches have deeply offended the sentiments of all patriotic Pakistanis, who have the utmost respect for state institutions, especially the Pakistan military including the Pakistan Rangers. All Pakistanis respect and honour the countless sacrifices made by the Pakistan military for the survival of Pakistan since independence and especially during the ongoing global war on terror."
"We strongly believe that national institutions cannot be ridiculed in public with such disdain and venom. It is disgraceful that a dual citizen such as Altaf Hussain is using the safety of British nationality and soil to express such hatred against the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Pakistan Rangers," it added. "We have the utmost respect for the British Crown and its government and people. As a sovereign state, we expect the same respect from you and your citizens for our state institutions. Even your Government acknowledges the significant contributions and sacrifices made by Armed Forces of Pakistan in the war on terror," it said "I ask you and your Government the following question: Would the British Government tolerate the same type of hateful and venomous speech by a British-Pakistani dual national living in Pakistan broadcasted in the United Kingdom against the British Crown/Government and/or Armed Forces," it added.

We strongly demand that the British Government take immediate action to stop these hate speeches by Altaf Hussain and criminal proceedings against him should be initiated, it demanded.
