Suzuki has finally unveiled its much awaited facelifted compact SUV, the Suzuki Vitara, for 2019 that features a host of updates on its looks and performance.

Vitara was first launched in the market back in 1988, while at the moment its fourth generation is currently on the road. The SUV is sold across the globe in 191 countries and its cumulative sales recently passed 3.7 million units mark. Here are the major changes in the face-lifted Vitara:

Power

The Vitara will be available in 1.0-litre petrol and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine variants, replacing the earlier 1.6-litre petrol engine. The 1.0-litre engine will be capable of producing 110 hp of power, while the 1.4-litre engine will churn out 140 hp of power and 220 Nm of peak torque.

Meanwhile, Suzuki's ALLGRIP 4-wheel drive system will also come as an option with the manual gearbox variant of the car.

Exterior

The face-lifted Vitara will now come in, two new colours. Vitara also gets a new design alloy wheels with a redesigned front grille and lower bumper, whereas the rear of the car features new design and distinctive LED combination lamps.

Interior

On the inside, the dashboard comes wrapped in high quality leather giving a soft touch impact. Whereas, the instrument cluster has a new design with colour central information display.

Safety features

Vitara now features dual sensor brake support, alongside, lane departure warning and assistance, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.

As per reports, the price of the 2019 Suzuki Vitara facelift will be announced in September.
