Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday said there was no pressure on Sindh government regarding Rangers' deployment and powers in Karachi. He said the bill on the powers of the Rangers and one-year extension would be approved by the Sindh Assembly.
Talking to media persons after offering Eid prayer and visit to Benazir Bhutto's shrine in Garhi Khuda Bux along with Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani and other MPAs, Qaim Ali Shah said the transfers and postings in Sindh government were done in order to address the corruption complaints and it would continue to do so in future as well.
CM Sindh said Police and Rangers released several of the arrested due to lack of evidence and got many of them convicted with the help of evidence as well. He said that hiring or firing of the officers was not Apex committee's job. "Apex committee works for keeping law and order only," he said.
