A youth Bagh Ali Langah alias Bagha and his father Muhammad Yaquob Langah have died of lightning when they were shifting their belongings to safe places in a boat from the flood-hit area, told DPO Muzaffargarh Awais Ahmed Malik. He said that another two people were swept away in water of river Indus in Daira Din Pana (Kotadu) and their bodies were recovered. He said that total seven casualties were reported in different areas of Muzaffargarh district.
Provincial secretary (floods) Iftikhar Ali Sahu said that total 19 casualties were reported to control room during last five days. Some of them died of snake biting on protective bunds. Of them ten including two minor children and two women were drowned in Layyah and Rajanpur district during the flood in river Indus. District Co-ordination Officer Muzaffargarh Hafiz Shaukat Ali said, "Nine people including three women have so far been drowned in Muzaffargarh district."
