The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and the country’s soon-to-be Prime Minister Imran Khan on August 7 against his alleged misuse of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government helicopters.

According to NAB officials, Khan has said that he used two helicopters belonging to the KP government for 74 hours. Statements of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa former chief minister Pervez Khattak and other officials have already been recorded by NAB regarding the case, local media reported.

The cricketer-turned-politician is accused of illegally using Mi-17 and an Ecureuil helicopter belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, causing a loss of Rs 2.1 million to the national treasure.

Previously on July 18, Khan was issued a notice to appear before NAB but he requested to postpone this meeting as he was busy with election campaigning. His lawyer, Babar Awan, petitioned the accountability watchdog to change the date.
