The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to launch Withholding Tax Module of "Iris" for which training and education of withholding agents would be done by Directorate General (Withholding Taxes) and IT Wing. According to the FBR's instructions issued to the field formations here on Tuesday, Withholding Tax Module of "Iris" is ready for launch. In order to introduce the new module and to educate and train withholding agents for its use, Directorate General (Withholding Taxes) and IT Wing have planned to hold Seminars for Withholding Agents, in all major cities, as per the following schedule:
On August 4, 2015, seminar of Withholding Agents of LTU, Karachi would be held at LTU, Karachi; seminar of Withholding Agents of RTOs, Karachi would be held at RTO, Karachi on August 4, 2015; seminar of Withholding Agents of LTU, Islamabad would be held at LTU, Islamabad on August 6, 2015; seminar of Withholding Agents of RTOs, Islamabad/Rawalpindi would be held at RTO, Islamabad on August 6, 2015; seminar of Withholding Agents of LTU, Lahore would be held at LTU, Lahore on August 10, 2015 and seminar of Withholding Agents of RTOs, Lahore would be held at RTO, Lahore on August 10, 2015.
In view thereof, it is requested that the withholding agents falling within the jurisdiction of respective LTU/RTO may he asked to ensure the presence of their concerned persons dealing with the withholding taxes and e-filing of statements so that education/training regarding Iris may be imparted to them, Moreover, arrangements for such seminars may be made by the LTUs/RTOs on the above mentioned dates keeping in view the number of participants, FBR added.
