An anti-dengue walk was held organised by district health department to mark Anti-Dengue Day to raise the awareness among the masses against dengue. The walk was led by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal which started from Zila Council Chowk and culminated at the same place after passing through Katchery bazaar Chowk and Circular Road. DHO Dr Nawazash, District Co-ordinator Dengue Dr Bilal, DO Social Welfare Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, officers of different departments and a large number of citizens belonging to different walks of life were also participated in the walk. The participants of walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with precautionary measures against dengue.
Talking the media, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal said that Anti-Dengue campaign would continue with more determination and passion in the district to get rid of dengue problems. He said that during monsoon season the dangers of dengue are expected and the precautionary measures should be adopted with great sense of responsibility. He said all relevant departments had been put on high alert during rainy season and indoor as well as outdoor surveillance was being carried out in the district. He said dengue was a social issue which could be contributed by the active participation of the community. The DCO said that all the possible efforts are being made for the eradication of dengue at government level and like previous years the menace of dengue would be defeated even during this year.
District Co-ordinator Dengue also told the participants of the walk and said that anti-dengue measures were being taken by the health department. He said that Anti Dengue Day would be observed today (30 July) and cleanliness of all the offices would be the part of dengue day, besides an awareness programme for public.
