China earned their ninth diving gold of these world aquatic championships on Sunday as Wang Han and Yang Hao won the new 3m springboard synchro mixed event on its debut. Chinese divers have now matched their gold medal haul from both the 2007 and 2013 championships when they left Melbourne and Barcelona respectively.
Only their 2011 campaign was better when they claimed an immaculate ten from ten and they can match their tally in Sunday's men's 10m platform final in Kazan. Wang and Yang won gold with a winning tally of 339.90 points with Canada's Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac taking silver with 317.01 pts.
Italy took bronze with 315.30 pts as Tania Cagnotto won her third medal of these championships after gold in the 1m springboard final and bronze in the 3m event, as her partner Maicol Verzotto won his first world medal.
