The district administration Chitral has dispatched 45 teams comprising civil and military officials for conducting survey of losses due to recent torrential rains and floods. The teams will prepare its detail report to the provincial government so that rehabilitation of affectees could be completed as soon as possible. The government along with military authorities dispatched the representatives of all line departments across district Chitral.
According to details so far 32 deaths including children and women have been reported in the district. The highest number of casualties 23 has been reported from Union Council Malko of Sub-Division Mastuj while 8 from Tool, two from Broze and one each death in Gohkeer, Lone, Reshun, Ayun, Hengal, Green Lasht and Warrang, respectively. The killing of 3600 cattle is also reported.
Land route contact with Sub-Division Mastuj, Lout Koh and Kalash Valley has been suspended. However, assessment teams are still working in the area. The largest hurdle in the relief operation is inaccessibility to the mountainous area affected by the flood, where only Pakistan Army could reach.
All relief goods of the civil administration is being dispatched to the affected areas through Pakistan Army.
